Dundee United remain on top of their League Cup section after a bonus point draw at Inverness Caley Thistle.
The Tangerines battled back to hold the highlanders over 90 minutes and then picked up the extra point available in the penalty shoot-out, winning it 4-1.
The visitors created the first opening of the 90 minutes when good passing on the left allowed Cammy Smith to cut inside and curl a shot from the edge of the area a yard wide.
ICT’s reply was a Billy King cross from their left flank that saw Liam Polworth volley past from a good position.
There was another chance for United when Smith set up Nick van der Velden inside the home box. The Dutchman took too long to shoot and his effort was blocked.
That proved costly as the home side took the lead ten minutes before the break. Carl Tremarco sent in a long throw from the left, Garry Warren headed on and Scott Boden forced the ball over the line from close range.
Just a minute into the second half United levelled thanks to a fine goal. Simon Murray and Blair Spittal combined well on the right and when the ball was rolled back to Stewart Murdoch, he curled home a beauty from the edge of the home box.
Boden had a chance to restore the home lead when David Raven released him on the right, but his shot flew wide. At the other end Murray was a whisker away with a left foot shot from a van der Velden pass.
It was on to penalties and Cammy Bell was the hero, saving from Greg Tansey and Ross Draper while United converted their first four kicks.
