A young Dundee United side battled back to earn a draw with Forfar in a lively friendly at Station Park.
The Tangerines fell behind just after the quarter-hour mark when young fullback Jamie Robson fouled Matthew Aitken inside the penalty area. David Cox made no mistake from the spot, confidently sending Lewis Zwick the wrong way.
United hit back quickly and Charlie Telfer saw a 25 yard shot fly just inches over.
Early in the second half a Justin Johnson cross set up a chance for Slovenian trialist Alen Ploj, but he failed to find the target with his header.
Then a fine run and cross from Johnson saw Ploj hit the bar from three yards, though his blushes were saved by an offside flag.
Johnson set up the next opening when he picked out Henri Anier in the box, but the Estonian’s shot sailed high over the bar.
United continued to press and five minutes from time got their reward when a rifled low shot from Johnson went through ‘keeper Grant Adam’s legs for the equaliser.
