Speak to him for as little as five minutes and that’s crystal clear.
He knows what he wants and he knows what he needs to do to make Dundee United successful again.
And, in the best possible way, that’s going to put pressure on the board at Tannadice.
McKinnon accepts he doesn’t have fortunes to spend. But if Stephen Thompson and his directors can give him the proper tools — i.e. some money, he will spend it wisely.
It’s what he did at Raith Rovers last season, so he is more than capable of doing the same at United.
So it really is a case of over to you chaps up in the boardroom to do everything possible to help him out.
