Dundee United today confirmed midfielder Paul Paton has left the club.
The 29-year-old has now signed on for the Tangerines’ Tayside rivals St Johnstone on a two-year-deal.
Signed three years ago from Partick Thistle, Paton made just under 100 appearances and skippered the side in his final few appearances last season.
He was one of the players who were last month told they were free to find new clubs as cost cutting in the wake of relegation from the Premiership kick in.
“Paul was a good servant to Dundee United and I would like to thank him and wish him all the best,” said manager Ray McKinnon.
