Dundee United defender Coll Donaldson could be heading back south.
League Two outfit Stevenage are understood to be showing an interest in the 21-year-old.
He’s one of the players to be told in the wake of relegation he is free to find another club.
Donaldson only signed on the eve of the pre-season trip to Holland last July when QPR released him from his contract so he could move to Tannadice.
He’d gone to the Londoners in January 2014 after impressing at Livingston.
His first, and probably only, season at United has seen him make 21 appearance to date.
He is in the squad for the final game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. With Callum Morris returning to the squad after being suspended for the draw with Partick on Tuesday night, Donaldson may only be on the bench.
And with nothing but pride at stake for both teams, caretaker boss Gordon Young could again give several young players a run out.
Young remains in charge despite the appointment of new manager Ray McKinnon on Thursday.
He will be in the stand at Rugby Park but will not take over responsibility for team matters until next week.
He is already looking at signing options for next term and is also in the process of finalising the backroom staff he’ll be working with.
