Not because it was the goal that officially relegated Dundee United. But because it was another step in his rejuvenation towards the end of what’s been a tough season. Like many highly-rated kids before him, Wighton’s had one of those years where not everything has gone to plan. His loan at Raith Rovers early in campaign did not work out as hoped. And when he came back just after the start of the year, he was twiddling his thumbs for a while. Recent times, though, have seen him in the thick of the action and he’s been a starter for the last three of Dundee’s games.
