Dundee United star Ryan Edwards insists the Tannadice side have been ‘like a new team’ since their opening day defeat to Aberdeen.
United held a team meeting in the wake of that loss – and that has led to a transformation in their fortunes ever since.
United have picked up 14 points from 21 – including victories over Rangers, St Johnstone and Dundee and a draw at Celtic Park.
They are also the Scottish Premiership’s meanest defence – with five clean sheets from eight games.
Their fine form means United can go third with a win over Hibernian on Saturday.
And Edwards, who has been outstanding alongside Charlie Mulgrew this year, believes the Pittodrie loss was a watershed moment for his side.
“We weren’t good enough against Aberdeen and knew that ourselves,” said Edwards.
“We were miles off it in that game. Our fans must have been thinking it was going to be a long season.

“On the Tuesday after that game we had a meeting. There was no finger-pointing but a few issues were addressed.
“We have regrouped since then and have resolved any issues we had. It’s like we have become a new team since that day.
“We are creating more chances than last year and our defence has been solid.
Ryan Edwards: We have two top-class keepers at Dundee United
“If teams do get past our defence then they have two class keepers to get past – Benji Siegrist or Trevor Carson.
“Everyone is in this together – the management, the players and the fans. It’s showing.
“We have turned it round pretty quickly and you can see the confidence we took from the win over Rangers.
“That’s five clean sheets in eight league games which is excellent at this level.”
