Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon is hopeful that he will have star man Tony Andreu available to face Hibs.
The Championship’s two big guns line up against each other at Easter Road on Friday night and the Tangerines are desperate to have their French playmaker in their team.
Andreu missed Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Dumbarton and he was badly missed as the Tangerines struggled to unlock the Sons’ defence despite enjoying plenty of possession.
He has been suffering from a rib injury but does appear to be on the mend.
That is good news for United in general and for McKinnon in particular.
The Tannadice boss said: “Tony has pulled a muscle in his ribs so there was no point pushing him to play at Dumbarton.
“Now he has had a chance to recover and recharge the batteries.
“I would think he has a chance for the Hibs match.
“I certainly hope so!”
Meanwhile, McKinnon also revealed that Lewis Toshney – an unused substitute at Dumbarton – has broken his toe.
Toshney has been getting painkilling injections and may even come into the side to take on the Hibees.
McKinnon confirmed: “Tosher has a broken toe and had to have injections just to make it to the bench.”
