Dundee United will today sign Danish striker Thomas Mikkelsen.
In a move that will give the Tannadice side a huge boost ahead of tonight’s massive match against Hibs at Easter Road, the Tangerines will land the 26-year-old on loan from Odense.
The 26-year-old forward has enjoyed limited game time at his parent club in his homeland but perfectly fits the criteria of a physical type of centre-forward wanted by United boss Ray McKinnon.
Mikkelsen has already been sent out on loan by Odense, to second-tier side Vejle, but will now get the chance to prove his worth in Scotland’s Championship.
Once the paperwork is completed today he is expected to be part of United’s squad for the big one this evening against the Hibees.
The news that Mikkelsen is on his way is the ideal pre-match tonic for the Tangerines, who had previously been linked with Hearts striker Conor Sammon and Celtic’s former United frontman Nadir Ciftci.
