Montrose boss Stewart Petrie is hoping that the loan signing of Dundee United youngster Matty Smith will help send his team up the League Two table.
The 19-year-old will stay at Links Park until the end of the season.
Smith is Petrie’s second signing of the transfer window and will strengthen his attacking options ahead of an important run of fixtures.
Petrie said: “I am delighted to have brought Matty to the club. Goals will be key for us as we head towards the end of the season so bolstering our striking options was vital at this time.”
Towards the end of last season Smith made his professional debut, selected in the starting line-up for a 3-3 draw with Patrick Thistle.
He is contracted to United until the summer of 2019.
