Dunfermline Athletic are eyeing an ambitious loan swoop for Dundee United prospect Chris Mochrie.
The 19-year-old has already made 21 senior appearances for the Tangerines and opened his account in a Premier Sports Cup win over Elgin City last season.
The promising attacking midfielder also enjoyed a fruitful spell at Montrose in 2020/21, notching two goals and three assists in 24 outings.
Mochrie, who is contracted to United until the summer of 2024, made his Terrors debut at the age of 16 and remains highly-rated.

Nevertheless, with the likes of Ian Harkes, Dylan Levitt, Archie Meekison, Craig Sibbald and — when fit — Peter Pawlett ahead of him in the pecking order, first-team opportunities could be limited in the coming campaign.
And League One title hopefuls Dunfermline, bossed by ex-Dundee gaffer James McPake, are one of the sides ready to offer the teenager a platform to shine next term.
The Scotland under-19 international can play in a No10 role, in the engine room or on the wings and would bring added attacking impetus to the Pars side.
However, it is understood the Fifers face competition for his signature.
