Former Dundee United kid Florent Hoti is training with Peterhead as he eyes a return to Scottish football.
Hoti, 21, impressed as a trialist for the Blue Toon on Saturday, helping Jim McInally’s men claim a fine 1-1 draw against high-flying Edinburgh.
The combative midfielder will continue to work with the League One side in the coming weeks and is expected to line up against Montrose and Airdrie.
Hoti is seeking to build his fitness and match sharpness as he weighs up his next move, with the Manchester-born prospect keen to seal an SPFL deal.
Hoti joined United from Rochdale in the summer of 2020 and went on to make 13 senior appearances for the Tangerines, playing a part in victories over Aberdeen and Hibernian.
He also notched two goals in nine appearances during a loan stint with Forfar Athletic and has represented Kosovo seven times at under-21 level.
Hoti was strongly linked with a switch to Dunfermline Athletic in January but the move did not come to fruition.
And he subsequently played no part in last season’s run-in for United, with his final outing for the club coming in a 1-0 defeat at Rangers on December 18, 2021.
He was released by the Terrors in the summer and is now a free agent.
