Saturday was a hard luck story for Dundee United.
In their position, they can’t really afford hard luck stories.
In the end, they can take plenty of positives out of the game at Celtic Park.
Considering how strong the league leaders are at home, Liam Fox and his team will be disappointed not to have come away with a draw thanks to the two late goals.
They competed well but will be frustrated with the goals they conceded.
To lose four goals raises question marks of the defence.
But nobody expected a result so taking positives out of a game at Parkhead has to be accepted.
Kilmarnock
No hard luck stories will do in midweek, however.
Kilmarnock at home in the positions the two clubs find themselves in, United have to win.
Lose and the likelihood is they go into the World Cup break with a lot of pressure on their shoulders.
This game at Tannadice is a chance to give themselves a lift ahead of these five weeks off.
Because Aberdeen away on Saturday looks tough.
Jim Goodwin’s side are in form right now and outwith the Old Firm, Tynecastle or Pittodrie are the next on the list of most difficult places to go.
If they don’t pick up some points over the next two games I really fear for them.
These two matches are as big as they come for United.
