Jamie McGrath has earned a recall to the Ireland squad following a string of superb displays for Dundee United.
The in-form midfielder has been named in Stephen Kenny’s group for the upcoming friendlies against Norway (November 17) at the Aviva Stadium and Malta in Ta’Qali three days later.
That means McGrath, on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic, will cross swords with Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland in Dublin.

McGrath will hope to add to his six Ireland caps during the upcoming international break, returning to the squad for the first time since November 2021.
His selection should come as no surprise, given the former St Mirren ace has been one of the Tangerines’ most consistent performers in recent weeks.
Carljohan Eriksson and Ilmari Niskanen have also been named in the Finland squad for their upcoming friendlies against North Macedonia (November 17) and Norway (November 20).
Aziz Behich and Dylan Levitt, meanwhile, are World Cup-bound with Australia and Wales, respectively.
