Dundee United have announced provisional plans for the Premiership promotion play-off quarter-final, even as they try to avoid playing in it.
The Tangerines currently sit a point behind second-placed Falkirk ahead of the final set of regulation season fixtures on Saturday, with United travelling to Morton and the Bairns playing away to Dumbarton.
Should Ray McKinnon’s men fail to finish as Championship runners-up they will go straight into the first set of play-off ties against the fourth-placed Greenock men.
They would be heading west first, with the opening match taking place at Cappielow either on Tuesday 9th or the following night, with a 7.45 pm kick-off.
Cash turnstiles would be in operation for that fixture, with prices yet to be announced.
The return game would be at Tannadice on either Friday 12th (7.45 pm) or Saturday 13th (3pm).
If the game were to be played on the Friday night that would avoid a clash with Dundee’s Premiership match against Ross County at Dens.
United’s home tie would be all-ticket, with prices set at £12 for adults and £6 for concessions £6.
Should results go well for the Tangerines this weekend, though, and they finish second they will not enter the play-offs until the semi-final stage.
Those matches are scheduled for the 17th and 20th and ticketing details will be announced on Saturday night if required.
