Ian Roache selects the five players key to Dundee United taking a step towards the Premiership in tonight’s play-off against Hamilton Accies.
Tony Andreu
The Frenchman plays the game with a certain je ne sais quoi and his creativity will be required to open up Accies’ defence. He is facing his old team but I expect Andreu to relish that challenge rather than it be a problem for him.
Cammy Bell
The goalie had a couple of sticky moments in the home leg against Falkirk but I expect him to be back to his best this evening. If United do get promoted then Bell will have been one of the major reasons why.
William Edjenguele
The Edge adds bags of strength and experience to the backline. His no-nonsense approach to defending will be exactly what’s required during periods of Hamilton pressure.
Thomas Mikkelsen
Manager Ray McKinnon feels Andreu is overdue a goal and I would say exactly the same about Mikkelsen. The Dane had grabbed six in eight matches prior to the play-offs and would be a decent bet to find the target tonight.
Simon Murray
The flame-haired frontman is on fire. Having Mikkelsen alongside him has helped and Murray was an outstanding man-of-the-match at Falkirk. He will feel like he is 10-feet tall when he walks up that tunnel tonight.
