Dundee United boss Ray McKinnon has lavished praise on Fraser Fyvie with the manager admitting he has been taken aback by just how good the midfielder is.
The 24-year-old joined the Tangerines at the start of August and had to play catch-up fitness-wise after missing out on pre-season.
Now though, Fyvie, who has won the FA Cup with Wigan and the Scottish Cup with Hibs, is fully up to speed, netting two goals in United’s last league game against Dunfermline, and McKinnon is mightily impressed.
When asked if Fyvie was even better than he thought when he signed him, the manager said: “Miles. I knew he was a good player but when you watch him training . . .
“I said to him yesterday, whatever you are doing, keep doing it.
“His training has been unbelievable. He just controls things.
“Fraser seems to have been around forever playing for Aberdeen and down at Wigan in the FA Cup final but he is still only 24.
“He is the first one in at training and he heads straight for the gym. He is really focused and is just a very good pro.
“If we can keep him fit, the way he is playing just now, it will be frightening. Fraser will be a top, top player for us. He has everything.”
