Dundee United humiliation puts big question mark over title credentials
ByReporter
Dundee United suffered a humiliating hammering at the result of Championship strugglers Falkirk to raise huge doubts over their title credentials.
Six was the number of goals they conceded and six is the number of points they are now behind St Mirren at the top of the league.
This was a fixture in which Falkirk looked the promotion contenders and United the relegation battlers.
And what made things worse was the Tangerines actually took an early lead through Billy King.
However it was pretty much all Falkirk after that and goals from Peter Grant, Reghan Tumilty, a double from Louis Longridge, Tommy Robson and Lewis Kidd left Csaba Laszlo’s men stunned and the United travelling fans furious.
Two of Laszlo’s January signings started – Craig Slater and Brandon Mason – and will be wondering what they have let themselves in for.
This defeat was heavier than anything under previous boss Ray McKinnon and next up is another away trip to back-in-form Dunfermline.
