Dundee United central defender William Edjenguele is hoping to finish a frustrating season on a high.
The 30-year-old Frenchman is on the verge of a comeback from a long-term foot injury and could start tonight’s home Championship clash with Queen of the South.
It would be his first appearance since the December 9 win over Greenock Morton at Cappielow and he is desperate to get out on the pitch again.
Edjenguele said: “It has been a very frustrating year and things have been hard.
“I have been lucky in my career because I haven’t had many injuries and last season I was injury free.
“But sometimes things even themselves out in life and I was unfortunate this year to get a fracture in my foot.
“It is frustrating and even more so when the team isn’t getting results and you can’t help.
“Hopefully, I can come back in now.
“I have been training lately and would love to play a part in the remaining games.
“As a player you want to play, that is why you work hard every week, so I am waiting for my chance to come along now.
“If it does then it will be up to me to take it and show the manager I should be in there every week.”
