Dundee United’s first free midweek since early March could be coming at just the right time, according to Willo Flood, as the Tangerines seek to put a heavy defeat to Queen of the South behind them.
The Tannadice club’s place in the play-offs was secured thanks to Dunfermline drawing in Inverness and Flood admitted that there will be no time to dwell on their own 3-0 loss in Dumfries.
“The lads will be happy to get a free midweek,” he said. “Even though when you play as badly as that you want to play again quickly to get it out of your system.
“We’re in the play-offs and we need to give this club something to be proud of. The only way to do that is to get us back to where we belong.
“We need to get the positivity back and be raring to go. We can’t dwell on this game. We need to get it out of our system.”
