Dundee United are keen to bring Graeme Livestone back to the club as part of the shake-up of their youth set-up being carried out by club legend Paul Sturrock.
Sturrock is now working as a first-team scout and adviser to the club and is looking to bring former Scotland schools team manager Livestone back to Tannadice.
Former United manager Craig Levein ended Livestone’s first time in charge back in 2009 and he has been working as head of youth development and scouting at Alloa since 2012.
Sturrock is also keen to bring Raith Rovers’ first team coach and under-20 manager Craig Easton into United’s youth academy and has started moves to make that happen.
The Tangerines are also being linked with interest in Ross County’s frontman Craig Curran.
The 28-year-old Englishman scored 10 times for the Staggies as they were relegated from the top flight last season.
