Dundee United’s new striker Pavol Safranko is excited to be reunited with manager Csaba Laszlo.
The Slovakian striker’s one-year loan deal with the Tangerines has been confirmed and, if they can get international clearance, he will be included in today’s squad for the trip to Queen of the South.
He joins the Tannadice men from Danish side Aalborg and will be teaming up again with Laszlo after the pair worked together at DAC Dunajska Streda in Slovakia.
Safranko (23) said: “The opportunity to come and play in Scotland for a club like Dundee United, as well as to be reunited with Csaba Laszlo, excited me.
“I want to help this club reach the top league this season and I now look forward to meeting my new teammates.”
Laszlo is delighted to get the tall frontman – Safranko is six foot one – he has been searching for.
“It was one of our remaining aims to acquire a target man and Pavol fits that role,” said the United gaffer.
“I know him from our time together at DAC and believe we are getting a striker who will complement the players already here.
“I feel pleased to have secured his services for the season.”
