Dundee United have welcomed Danish midfielder Mathias Thrane to their training base at St Andrews.
The 24-year-old Odense player has joined former Partick Thistle and Ross County player Martin Woods on trial with the Tangerines.
Thrane, who counts Aalborg among his former clubs, recently told the Danish media that he is keen to move away from his homeland.
He said: “My first priority has been to try something other than Denmark.
“Now I have played four years in the Superligaen so it could be very exciting to move to another country and try out …a new culture.
“I have received specific offers from Finland and Iceland.
“There has also been a lot of interest from Norway and India but it was not concrete.”
Woods is also looking to impress United boss Csaba Laszlo.
The Tannadice boss confirmed the presence of the trialist pair, saying: “At the moment we have training with us the player from Denmark (Thrane) and Martin Woods so we are definitely prepared if some players go out.
“Mathias is a midfielder who played with Aalborg and Odense in the Danish Premier League last season.
“It is not a secret that he is here and he is without a club just now.”
Meanwhile, Laszlo is optimistic about striker Nicky Clark’s chances of being fit for Saturday’s trip to Alloa.
The Hungarian said: “I think that Nicky will be OK in the next couple of days.
“He has this Achilles problem and has had a scan just to make sure there is nothing wrong.
“I am confident the scan will show no damage and he will come back to the training on Thursday at the latest.
“I would say he has a chance for Saturday.”
