Dundee United have signed Algerian central defender Rachid Bouhenna.
Manager Csaba Laszlo confirmed last week that Bouhenna was an option for the Tangerines and the 27-year-old has joined them from MC Alger in the north African nation on a two-year deal.
French-born Bouhenna has already had a spell in the United Kingdom with Doncaster Rovers in England and also played for Compeigne in France before moving to Algeria.
He has represented his country at under-23 level.
After his arrival at Tannadice, Bouhenna said: “I am pleased to join Dundee United and show my ability in Scottish football.
“I cannot wait to get out on the park for United.”
Laszlo added: “Rachid is a player we have followed for quite a while and I am delighted to bring him into the squad and add to our defensive strength.”
On his way out of Tannadice on loan is central defender Scott Allardice, who will be joining League One side Dumbarton until January.
