Dundee United left it late to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw.
Skipper Fraser Fyvie’s stoppage time volley cancelled out an early Morton opener. It was reward for persistence but the team’s performance was nothing really to get excited about.
Rachid Bouhenna was deemed to have impeded Gregor Buchanan when a corner came into the box early in the contest, with Michael Tidser scoring from the spot.
What followed was a fairly unimpressive display from Csaba Laszlo’s men, who huffed and puffed to little effect.
Midfield was a particular area bereft of quality.
A first half lacking much goalmouth action sparked into life in the last few minutes with three near misses – two of them for United.
First Fraser Aird picked out Pavol Safranko with a cross from the right. The striker’s diving header was a powerful one but too close to keeper Ryan Scully, who saved.
Up the park went Morton, with United’s centre-backs nowhere to be seen, and Denny Johnstone made a mess of his free run-in on Matej Rakovan.
Then in injury time, Craig Curran found the side of the net when he really should have found the back of it.
Fyvie was brought on as a late substitute and he had a couple of long range efforts before his equaliser three minutes into added time.
