Pavol Safranko firmly believes manager Csaba Laszlo can lead Dundee United to promotion this season.
The Slovakian striker headed home United’s first goal in their crucial 2-0 win over bottom club Falkirk on Saturday.
Craig Curran nodded in the second with just four minutes to go to help ease the pressure on Laszlo.
The Tangerines’ boss needed a victory to dampen down talk of his job being on the line and, with three points in the bag, Safranko insists United have the right man in the dugout.
The 23-year-old, who played under Laszlo at Slovakian club Dunajska Streda, said: “We should stick with the manager.
“I came here because I believed in him and he also told me that he had a very good team.
“We need to just take it step by step, winning game by game.
“We want to be first in the league but it must always be focused on the next game.
“Is he a man under pressure? I don’t think so.
“If he is then we don’t see anything. He does a good job for us and for the club.”
