There were two sides to Csaba Laszlo – the man and the manager.
The man was great to work with from a reporter’s perspective, always courteous, respectful and even friendly. I certainly wish him well for the rest of his career.
The manager didn’t always convince, though.
He worked extremely hard at communicating and didn’t deserve any criticism for that.
You never really felt, though, that he was totally comfortable as United boss unlike, for example, Craig Levein during his spell at Tannadice.
There was also a feeling that he was happier at a higher level of competition than the Scottish Championship.
You sensed he needed to adapt his management style for that division.
His heart was in the job but you have to conclude that both he and United will be better off without each other.
