Dundee United are to open contract talks with Benjamin Siegrist in a bid to hold on to the Swiss goalkeeper. Siegrist was a standout performer for the Tangerines during their failed bid to get promoted to the Premiership via the play-offs. He is being linked with big English sides Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Hull City despite still having another year on his Tannadice deal. United want to offer him improved terms and will speak to the player as soon as possible. The Tangerines are also keen to make striker Pavol Safranko’s stay permanent. As things stand, the Slovakian international is heading back to his Danish parent club Aalborg.
