Dundee United’s new left-back Adrian Sporle has revealed he turned down a fresh offer from his Argentinian club Banfield in order to test himself abroad.
In a translated interview, Sporle (23) said: “Banfield wanted to renew me at the beginning of the year but I had the goal of leaving on June 30 because the idea was to play abroad.
“I needed the change of air and I think I’m at the right age to go outside, so luckily it happened.”
Sporle raised the prospect of eventually getting the chance to play in England, adding: “It (United) is an entity that sells many players and is related to the English league.”
