There will be a double Dundee United departure this week, Courier Sport can reveal.
Both Rachid Bouhenna and Callum Booth will be allowed to move on in the next few days.
Booth has drifted out of Robbie Neilson’s first team plans following the arrival of left-back Adrian Sporle, while United also have plenty of cover in central midfield now that Calum Butcher and Ian Harkes have returned to the side and Adam King has been signed.
One of the clubs interested in snapping up Bouhenna, who was originally recruited as a centre-back, is the Romanian side managed by old United boss Csaba Laszlo.
Getting two first team squad members off the wage bill should not be viewed as the trigger to bring in Stevie May, however.
United have been linked with the Aberdeen striker, and he was on a list of possible targets, but their next priority is a winger and there could soon be news on that front, The Courier understands.
