Barry Smith has lost his job at Brechin City just three games into the league season.
The Glebe Park club sit bottom of League Two with no points in the wake of Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Queen’s Park.
In all competitions they have played eight games, a 1-1 Betfred Cup draw with Montrose the only match that didn’t end up in a loss.
The parting of ways has come “by mutual agreement”, the Angus club have pointed out.
Chairman Ken Ferguson said: “We wish to thank Barry for his efforts and total professionalism whilst with the club.
“Barry leaves Brechin City FC with our best wishes for the future. Assistant manager Stevie Campbell will take on a caretaker role until a new manager is appointed.”
The new manager will be charged with reversing Brechin’s downward slide, which started with their failure to win a game in the Championship, the sacking of Darren Dods, another relegation and now the departure of a second manager in nine 12 months.
