Callum Booth is hopeful that he will be a St Johnstone player in 2020.
The left-back, whose recent introduction to the Saints first team has been a big factor in a win, a draw and two clean-sheets, was signed on a short-term deal in the summer through to January.
But now that Booth has taken over from Scott Tanser as first choice, talks to secure the former Dundee United and Partick Thistle man on a longer contract have taken on greater significance for manager Tommy Wright.
“I just have a contract to the end of January at the moment,” he said.
“But I’d be keen to extend it.
“We have had some talks and we will see what happens in the next week or so.”
