The confidence of the St Johnstone players has been topped up by their last two results.
But Perth boss Tommy Wright has warned that the same is true for tomorrow’s opponents St Mirren.
The Buddies and the McDiarmid Park side are both coming off a win and a draw, albeit in a different order.
The memories the teams will have from their last encounter in Paisley couldn’t be more different, though.
“At St Mirren that was one of the days where we didn’t get a reaction to losing the first goal,” said Wright of the 2-0 defeat in October.
“Everyone was frustrated at that so I know the lads will be desperate to put in a good performance against them this time around.
“But it’s not just about that. We have picked up four points from the last six which is good for a team who were bottom of the table.
“So we have to build on it now. We have the chance to push on from here.
“But it will be difficult because they have started to score goals and will get confidence from the way they came back last weekend to get a point.
“So having won against us the last time they will come here feeling they can beat us again.
“It will be up to us to put in a better performance than we did against them in the second half at their place a few months ago.”
