St Johnstone’s fortunes continue to slide after they suffered their fifth Premiership defeat in six games.
Two goals within the space of one first-half minute settled this contest in Livingston’s favour.
Livi were bottom of the table going into the match but not anymore.
Only goal difference is keeping Saints away from it now.
The opening goal started with Michael O’Halloran being dispossessed in midfield and Scott Tiffoney getting a favourable break of the ball in the box before firing an angled shot past recalled keeper Zander Clark.
Then, seconds after the centre, the hosts doubled their lead thanks to a fine curled Alan Forrest shot.
Substitute Callum Hendry had a second-half strike cleared off the line by ex-Saint Jason Holt and another replacement, Shaun Rooney, went close with an injury time header but it was another afternoon of no goals and no points for Callum Davidson’s team.
