St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is in no rush to put the final piece in his playing squad jigsaw for the new season.
Michael Coulson, Keith Watson, Blair Alston and Paul Paton have all already been brought on board for the 2016/17 campaign.
Wright hasn’t finished in the transfer market, but he can afford to play the waiting game before his business is completed.
“I would like one more player in but we have plenty of time,” he said. “There’s no rush.
“We have to the end of August so we can sit back and see who becomes available.
“It might be a loan and it is too early for managers to be thinking along those lines.”
The Northern Irishman added: “We have done much of our business early and I am happy with the shape of the squad.
“We will come back next week for pre-season training and be ready to go again.”
Meanwhile, Wright believes that playing Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park on day one is a good way to get the new year underway.
“It’s an attractive opening league fixture for us and the fans, at home to Aberdeen,” he said.
“There should be a good turn-out for that one. But we have League Cup games before that.”
By the time the season gets started it looks highly likely that John Sutton won’t be with the club. A number of sides have been linked with the striker and it is understood St Mirren are the frontrunners.
