Steven Anderson should be back for St Johnstone at the weekend.
The hip injury that forced the experienced defender out of Saturday’s defeat to Celtic has turned out not to be serious.
And manager Tommy Wright also had positive news on Chris Millar to report in the build-up to the clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
“Ando’s hip has settled down and he’s being assessed and should be OK for Saturday,” he said.
“There been a lot of injuries and getting Ando and Midge back would be a step in the right direction.
“But Tam Scobbie needs an operation on his knee so will have that on Thursday,
“Chris Millar will start training this week and by the end of the week I’m hoping to have Keith Watson, Michael Coulson and Ally Gilchrist back training too.
“Millar is probably the only one of those who has a chance of playing on Saturday.”
