St Johnstone’s head of football operations, Scott Boyd, has had a busy summer so far, with five new signings in the door at McDiarmid Park.
And he’s hoping it’s about to get even busier as the Perth recruitment drive continues.
“We’ve got a few boys who have already joined (Andy Considine, Drey Wright, Adam Montgomery, Graham Carey and Jamie Murphy) and we’re looking to build on that further in the next couple of weeks,” said Boyd in an interview with Sky Sports.
“We want to bed a good squad together.”
Completing deals is a big part of Boyd’s Perth job description, the former Kilmarnock and Ross County defender explained.
“It’s a very wide remit here,” he said.
“I’ll support the manager. When he identifies the players I’ll go and get the contract part done and get the players in.
“The manager has got his demands and I can go between him and the board.

“I’ve got great support from the board and chairman here and Callum’s one of the best young managers in the league.
“It’s overseeing the academy and we’ve had the women’s team come on board as well.
“You can see the developments around the pitches, and various other things.
“It’s certainly been a big learning curve since I stopped playing three years ago but it’s something I enjoy.”
