St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright is “comfortable” with the work being done to try and agree new contracts with several of his first team players.
One of those men, Joe Shaughnessy, has been made an improved offer, he revealed.
Wright reported: “The chairman is working extremely hard to make things happen.
“We are in regular contact and he keeps me up to date on how things are going.
“It’s the same every year and I am comfortable where we are at the minute. We have more meetings arranged with agents this week.
“Joe has been made an improved offer. His father looks after him and we are waiting for him to get back to us. I think he has been on holiday.
“It’s just the nature of the game. It’s not like going into a shop, handing over the money and coming out with the goods. The process takes time.
“Nothing has broken down and from what the chairman is telling me there’s no reason why we can’t get to a reasonable position with the players we have been talking to at the minute.”
