St Johnstone have taken former Watford midfielder Daniel Phillips on trial, Courier Sport understands.
The 21-year-old Trinidad and Tobago international was released by the English Championship side in the summer, having spent four years at Vicarage Road and a similar period in the Chelsea academy before that.
Phillips has two loan spells under his belt.
He made just four appearances with National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town in 2019 after sustaining a serious ankle injury and played 24 times for Gillingham last season in League One.

Phillips played twice for Watford’s first team and has been capped on five occasions for Trinidad and Tobago, his most recent appearance being against St Vincent in June.
Tough-tackling, with an eye for a pass, his former academy coach Hayden Mullins gave this description: “He has fantastic potential and a great attitude. He’s put in some fantastic performances and he’s developing into a real combative midfielder.”
Saints have been busy in this transfer window, with eight new signings featuring against Hibs on day one of the Premiership campaign.
The last two pieces in the jigsaw are a central midfielder and a striker.
Phillips has already been training with the Saints squad as manager Callum Davidson assesses whether to make him a contract offer.
