Jason Kerr’s season is over after a scan revealed an ACL knee injury for the former St Johnstone double-winning captain, it has been reported.
Kerr, who has been a regular for Wigan Athletic in the Championship, went down late in the Latics’ game against Swansea City at the weekend.
Manager Leam Richardson feared the worst at full-time.
He said: “You know with Jason, he’d never have come off the pitch if there’s any chance he could have stayed on. For him to make the decision to come off, that’s concerning.”
It took a while for Kerr to establish himself at Wigan after his deadline day move in the summer of 2021.
🚨🤕 Jason Kerr will miss the rest of the 2022/23 Championship season, after damaging Cruciate Knee Ligaments in the 2-2 draw against Swansea last weekend.
