David Wotherspoon has got his first game-time for Canada under his belt in over a year – and the St Johnstone star set-up two goals from corners in 45 minutes of action in Dubai.
The 32-year-old didn’t feature in his country’s impressive 2-1 pre-World Cup friendly win over Japan.
He was instead given a run-out against a Dubai second division side, which the Canadians won 2-0.

The bounce matches will serve as the final preparations for John Herdman’s squad ahead of next Wednesday’s opening fixture against Belgium.
The head coach said: “It’s a positive start.
“It was setting the tone for a World Cup game. When we face Belgium it will be a different level and I think our players can rise to that.”
