The St Johnstone players have picked up where they left off after a two-week break, manager Callum Davidson has reported.
And their Lancashire training camp has given the Perth squad the ideal platform for the build-up to the Premiership return later this month.
A closed-doors match against Preston North End on Tuesday will be followed up by Davidson’s players getting more minutes either in another bounce game at Fir Park on Saturday or in Bryan Hay’s testimonial at Fraserburgh the day after.
“We’ve got two games this weekend,” said the McDiarmid Park boss.
“Motherwell on Saturday and Fraserburgh on Sunday – so we’ll be mixing the teams up.

“After that we’ll play Kilmarnock next week and a game between ourselves for those who need topped up.
“There will be a development game the following week that we can use as well.”
Two more back
Davidson added: “The boys had been off for two weeks but you really wouldn’t have known it.
“Training down in Preston was a brilliant tempo.
“It was a great few days, and I’d like to thank Preston for allowing us to train there. The game against them was really good too.
“There have been a lot of positives.
“Cammy MacPherson and Callum Booth both played against Preston. That’s another two players back. And Murray Davidson isn’t far away.
“It’s great to get these players back and it’s also great that it won’t be easy for them to get into the team.”
