Chris Kane will return to St Johnstone a better player, the striker believes.
The 23-year-old’s loan spell at Queen of the South didn’t look to be paying off initially, as he struggled for goals and game-time.
However, he has hit top form in recent weeks, finding the net four times in five games.
Kane wants to leave Queens on a high by beating Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday and then make an impact at McDiarmid Park in the second half of the season.
“It looks like I am going back and things will be finalised when I speak to the manager (Tommy Wright) next week,” he said.
“Saturday is due to be my last game with Queen of the South and if I am going back then I will be returning as a better player.
“It has been good getting game time and I have learned a lot from the strikers that are here such as Stephen Dobbie.
“My confidence took a huge boost when I scored a couple of goals against Dunfermline in December and I have just built on that. I want to play if I go back to St Johnstone and keep that going.”
Centre-back Jason Kerr will also be returning to Saints from Dumfries.
