John Lambie, who played in the St Johnstone team regarded by many as the club’s greatest, has died aged 77.
Lambie was part of the Willie Ormond side that made its mark both in Scotland and Europe.
His managerial career was also a memorable one, enjoying three successful spells at Partick Thistle and winning two promotions with Hamilton Accies.
Lambie was renowned for his old school management (and love of pigeons) and he brought out the best in colourful characters like Chic Charnley.
