St Johnstone have completed a late transfer double, with Hearts’ midfielder Ross Callachan and former fans’ favourite Danny Swanson moving to McDiarmid Park.
Callachan, 24, had been deemed surplus to requirements at Tynecastle after making 34 appearances last season.
Motherwell were keen on the ex-Raith Rovers man but it was Saints who clinched a two-year deal on deadline day.
Swanson has already had two successful spells in Perth, where manager Tommy Wright has got the best out of him.
When the 31-year-old left it was to sign for his boyhood team, Hibs, where he has been unable to hold down a starting place.
Wright will be delighted with his summer business, given Tony Watt, Drey Wright and Matty Kennedy have all got off to flying starts.
