Tommy Wright is hopeful that Danny Swanson can make a big impact on St Johnstone’s bid to regain their place in the top six.
Injuries and the form of his team-mates have made it a stop-start return to McDiarmid Park for the former Dundee United man over the last few months.
But Swanson’s creativity could be crucial as Saints attempt to find the goals that will win enough points to get them back above Hibs in the five games left before the split.
“Danny hasn’t been playing a lot of football recently. Partly that is down to little niggles he has had,” said Wright.
“We were also on a good run which made it hard for anyone to get into the team before Christmas.
“But he has been looking brighter and a lot more like himself.
“Danny is the type who can pick a pass out of nothing and he can change games.
“Every manager wants everyone fit at this stage of the season and I am no different.
“You want plenty of options for the run-in.”
