A recent appointment with a specialist has given Drey Wright the green light to step up his recovery from injury.
The St Johnstone winger will spend time at the FA’s national football centre next week and, if all goes to plan, manager Tommy Wright hopes to have him back training with his first team by August.
“Everything is positive and on track after the last appointment with the consultant,” Wright reported.
“He will work with the physio this week and go back to St George’s next week when we head to Northern Ireland.
“He will have intensive work down there.
“The plan is still to get him on the pitch training sometime in August.
“How quickly he gets up to speed will determine when he gets back playing first team football.
“But Drey has experienced coming back from this sort of injury before and that should help him in the process.
“There is a tendency to lack the confidence to push on at times in these circumstances.
“But having been through it before should help Drey.”
