St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has confirmed that a training ground “incident” has led to defender Richard Foster being the subject of a club investigation.
But the Perth boss won’t speak about the details of the matter until that process reaches its conclusion.
Foster was left out of the match day squad at Easter Road on Saturday and the likely outcome is his departure from McDiarmid Park at some point this week.
“There was an incident and the club have dealt with it,” said Wright.
“There is part of that process still ongoing. So I can’t make any comment until it is totally and finally resolved.
“Obviously when there has been a problem you try to keep it in-house.
“But there is no denying that there was an incident which I had to report to the club to handle.
“Richard is in today but until it is resolved there will be no more comment.”
