Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes believes a resolution can be found to the long-running saga over Stevie May’s potential return to St Johnstone.
The Dons striker is understood to have his heart set on a move back to the Perth.
A deal looked set to be concluded last month before collapsing at a late stage but the clubs have returned to the table and it looks possible May could seal his McDiarmid Park return before the transfer window closes next week.
McInnes said: “In all these things, there needs to be some middle ground.
“I’m sure if there is enough desire from all parties they can find a solution to get something done.”
