St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has completed his squad with the short-term signing of former Dundee United left-back Callum Booth.
Booth left Tannadice in the summer then had a short, ill-fated spell with Bury and became a free agent after the English club’s recent demise.
Wright has been searching for cover for Scott Tanser and the 28-year-old will provide it until the end of the calendar year.
“We have signed Callum Booth on a deal to January so that will give us the competition we have been looking for at left-back,” said the Perth boss.
“He joined Bury after leaving Dundee United and got caught up in the problems there.
“Callum is a great quality player to pick up at this time of the year for nothing.
“He is a good age and knows the league well, so he ticked a few of the boxes we were looking for.
“He is versatile, he can play a few positions so will be a good addition.
“He’s been keeping himself fit so will be ready to go into the squad.”
